Services:

  • Care Companion
    • This program works with the Panhellenic community to educate and provide resources to sororities on campus. Each chapter has a representative who works with the Vice President of Health and Safety for the Panhellenic community. They not only focus on educating chapters on sexual harm but also on other issues they may be affected by. Whether it be mental health, kindness, or inclusivity, CARE companions present to chapters once or twice a month and set themselves up to be a resource. Since we are not mandated reporters, we can support members when they come to us and connect them with the KU CARE services to receive the help they need
  • The Sexual Trauma and Abuse CARE Center
    •  Located in Lawrence, their services include counseling, crisis response, advocacy, and education. It is all free of charge. They can connect you with therapy and support groups, with their work being grounded in a client-centered and trauma-informed approach

KU CARE Services :

  • Campus Assistance, Resource, and Education Center provides support to students who have been affected by sexual and intimate partner violence. Some of the services include counseling and providing information on accessing medical and mental health care, helping navigate community resources, offering support during the reporting process, and many other services. They can also link you to a Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE). These can be done at LMH. It is free, confidential, and voluntary. Their primary goal is to support students and listen to their story.
